Oktay Aktas has been an associate professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering and State Key Laboratory for Mechanical behavior of Materials, Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, since December 2016. He received his bachelor’s degree from Middle East Technical University, Turkey, and his master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Upon completing his postdoctoral research at Cambridge University, UK, and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Switzerland, he joined Xi’an Jiaotong University. He research interests are in the broad area of ferroic properties of materials on the macroscopic and nano scales with an incentive to help achieve device miniaturization and future devices based on ferroic properties.
