Kai Chen has been a professor at CAMP-Nano, State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behaviour of Materials, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China, since 2011. He received his B.S. degree in chemistry from Peking University in 2005 and then PhD degree from University of California, Los Angeles. His current research interests include the development of synchrotron radiation based X-ray microdiffraction, high throughput materials characterization at micro/nano scale, and 3D printing of superalloy single crystals.
